SUMMARY:Quantum Computing, Quantum Simulation, Quantum Gravity and the Standard Model
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nOrganizers: Hrant Gharibyan (Caltech), Masanori Hanada (U Surrey), Junyu Liu (U Chicago, SeQure, qBraid),  Enrico Rinaldi (Quantinuum), Yuan Su (Google), Brian Swingle (Brandeis U).\n \n\n \nWe aim to identify important problems in quantum gravity that can benefit from quantum simulation and also lead to new directions in the simulation of Standard Model physics, identify concrete steps, estimate realistic time frames, and draw a road map. We mainly consider holographic approaches, which have deep connections to QIS, and in particular, large-N gauge theories and matrix models. Those theories and QCD have common aspects, and hence, close communication between holography and Standard Model practitioners is anticipated to lead to fruitful outcomes. We wish to stimulate interaction between researchers from different backgrounds (quantum gravity, Standard Model physics, and QIS) and kick-start quantum simulation for quantum gravity.\n\nNote: This workshop will be in-person only (with COVID precautions as appropriate)\n \nConfirmed participants include:\nDavid Berenstein (UC Santa Barbara), Daniel Carney (LBNL), Bipasha Chakraborty (U of Southampton), Matthew DeCross (Quantinuum), Andrea Delgado (ORNL), Olivia Di Matteo (UBC), Michael Feig (Quantinuum), Masazumi Honda (Yukawa Institute, Kyoto), Isaac Kim (UC Davis), Natalie Klco (Duke), Henry Lin (Stanford), Juan Maldacena (IAS),   Emanuele Mendicelli (York U.), Alexis Morvan  (Google Quantum AI), Patrick Orman (UC San Diego), Juan Pedersen (U Tokyo), Edgar Shaghoulian (UC Santa Cruz), Vincent Su (Berkeley), Federica Maria Surace (Caltech),  Shan-Wen Tsai  (UC Riverside), Judah Unmuth-Yockey (FNAL), Masahito Yamazaki (Kavli Institute, Tokyo)\n\n\n\nThe morning presentations and discussions will be held in C421 (the INT seminar room), and the afternoon presentations and discussions will be held in the adjacent Interaction Space.\n
